Pender Harbour appoints Lobb + Partners for course review

Pender Harbour Golf Club in British Columbia, Canada, has appointed golf architecture firm Lobb + Partners to conduct a review of its nine-hole course.

Lobb + Partners will conduct a hole-by-hole analysis of the 3,095-yard par-36 layout, creating a vision to guide future plans and prioritise renovation work to be conducted alongside course superintendent Allan Dewald.

The club’s goals are to ease course maintenance, while enhancing playability and the golf experience.

“Strategic planning and short-term goal setting, utilising the expertise of Lobb + Partners, will surely enable Pender Harbour Golf Club to continue to operate successfully as a Society under the BC Societies Act, while further growing the game of golf on the Sunshine Coast,” said Brett Hallborg, board member at Pender Harbour.

“Not only is PHGC a memorable golf experience and wonderful example of successful community golf, it is also example of passionate, innovative, forward thinking people, who have come together over their love for golf,” said Oliver Tubb, design associate at Lobb + Partners. “We are really excited for this opportunity, and look forward to working with Allan and his team, along with the society members, to help craft a sustainable vision and plan for course improvements.”

Review work is scheduled to begin in winter 2020.
