Peoria to upgrade city course

The city of Peoria, Illinois, has approved a US$850,000 renovation to its Kellogg Golf Course, and is now looking for proposals from golf course architects for the work.

The city’s park board hopes to begin work at the 27-hole complex, which also includes a driving range and academy complex, next summer, and has 2013 slated as the completion date for the whole project.

Works are expected to include improving drainage on fairways, renovation of bunkers and converting the greens to bentgrass.
