Renovations to Alison nine at Stoke Park to commence this November

A renovation of the Alison nine at Stoke Park Country Club in Buckinghamshire, UK, is to get underway this November.

Stoke Park is home to 27-holes, all of which were originally designed by Harry Colt.

The upcoming work will see renovations to every bunker on the Alison nine, which comprises holes 10-18 at Stoke Park. New tees will also be added and the water features on holes 12 and 17 will be reworked.

The work on the Alison nine follows on from a similar project to renovate the course’s front nine – known as the Colt nine – which took place last winter.

“We’re looking to create a truly world-class finish on holes 16-18, without losing the feel and aesthetic that Harry Colt was kind enough to leave us,” said Stuart Collier, Stoke Park’s director of golf. “And, in doing that, we need to also ensure the course can be played and enjoyed by golfers of all levels.”

The work represents the middle section of a three-stage project at Stoke Park, following a seven-figure investment by the club’s owners, the King family.

Work will commence on 1 November. The Alison nine is expected to reopen to members in April 2017.
