Renovations to course at Thana City Golf and Sports Club to get underway

A renovation of the course at Thana City Golf and Sports Club near Bangkok, Thailand, is set to get underway shortly following the completion of a review of the course by the Pacific Coast Design firm.

The review was carried out by Pacific Golf Design’s directors, the results of which were presented to Thana City Management and Links Golf Services, the project’s managers. A preliminary budget was then reviewed by the club, who then approved the work.

The course at Thana City opened in 1993 and was originally designed by Greg Norman’s firm.

The upcoming project will see the complete redevelopment of two holes, while nine new greens complexes will be introduced. A new ‘19th hole’ will also be built in front of the clubhouse.

The course’s 16th, 17th and 18th holes will be reworked and collectively known as the ‘shark bite’. The course will also be brought up to 7,118 yards as part of the project.

Landscaping, cart path and regrassing work will be carried out, with Links Golf Services working over the next two years to complete the project. The course will remain open throughout this time.
