Sergio Garcia’s firm to design new course for Bahrain equestrian club

Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia has been appointed as course designer and brand ambassador for a new project with the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Bahrain and developer Bareeq Al Retaj.

The course will be built at REHC’s site in Riffa, a short drive west of Royal Golf Club, which regularly hosts the DP World Tour on a layout designed by European Golf Design with Colin Montgomerie.

According to a report by Bahrain News Agency, Yusuf Osama Buheji, CEO of REHC, said the initiative aligns with efforts to diversify development projects at the club, transforming it into a premier destination while supporting the sports and tourism sectors and attracting investment to advance Bahrain’s economic growth.

The agreement is the second deal for a new course in Bahrain to be signed by a Spanish golfer in recent months, following Olazabal Design’s appointment for the Al Areen development in the west of the island nation.
