Sewailo course to open next year
Management firm Troon is to operate the new Sewailo course at the Casino del Sol resort near Tucson, Arizona, on behalf of the Pascua Yaqui Native American tribe, which is developing the course.
Sewailo, which means 'flower world' in the Yaqui language, is expected to open next year. Golf architect Ty Butler has designed the course, along with signature name Notah Begay III.
“Our tribe welcomes Troon to the Sewailo project as a valued partner,” said Peter Yucupicio, chairman of the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Council. “Championship-style golf combined with the amenities at Casino Del Sol Resort brings us closer to realising our vision of creating a world-class destination in southern Arizona and Troon will ensure this venture is a success.”
