Shepherd’s Rock at Nemacolin Woodlands set for July 2017 opening

A new golf course at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort near Farmington, Pennsylvania, will open for play in July 2017.

Designed by Pete Dye and architect Tim Liddy, Shepherd’s Rock will complement the existing Mystic Rock layout at the resort – another Dye design.

The course plays a total of 7,142 yards, split across the 3,306 yard front nine and 3,836 yard back nine.

The front nine will reward precision and accuracy, and features Dye-created mounds and natural wetlands, with ball positioning crucial. The back nine is generally wider, and culminates in from of the Falling Rock hotel at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

The project is now entering its final stages, and is on course to open next year.
