Upgrades at the Country Club of St Albans’ two courses reach completion
Work to upgrade the two 18-hole golf courses at the Country Club of St Albans in Missouri, US, have been completed.
Part of a US$3.5 million club-wide project, work has been carried out to redesign a number of bunkers and improve the drainage on both the club’s Lewis and Clark and Tavern Creek courses.
The Lewis and Clark course was created by Tom Weiskopf and his then design partner Jay Morrish in 1991, and a team from Tom Weiskopf Designs oversaw the recent project.
The club’s driving range and practice complex have also been redesigned as part of the work. The new range is twice the size of its predecessor, and features zoysia grass, a new instruction tee box, and an inclement weather tee box which can be heated.
The club's general manager, David Derfel, commented: “These upgrades have exceeded our expectations. These changes make the Country Club of St Albans one of the top 36-hole country clubs in the Midwest.”
