Wild Spring Dunes to preview eight holes of new Tom Doak course

Wild Spring Dunes, a new public golf resort and community in East Texas owned and developed by Michael Keiser, will open eight holes of its Tom Doak course for preview play on 12 November 2025.

The holes – two par threes, four par fours and two par fives – are from Wild Spring Dunes’ first eighteen-hole course, which “winds through pine forests, open meadows, and spring-fed ravines”, according to the resort. The remaining ten holes are growing in ahead of a full opening in 2026.

Clearing is also underway on the resort’s second eighteen, a Coore & Crenshaw design. Plans have also been drawn up for a short course, putting course and practice facility.

Covering 2,400 acres of sandy soil, Wild Spring Dunes – located near Nacogdoches, approximately two-and-a-half hours by car from both Dallas and Houston – has home sites available and will also offer fishing and hiking.

Michael Keiser is the son of Bandon Dunes developer Mike Keiser and owns and operates, along with brother Chris, Sand Valley in Wisconsin. Michael Keiser has two other new projects in progress: Rodeo Dunes northeast of Denver, Colorado, which is growing-in its first course, a Coore & Crenshaw design, and Old Shores in northwest Florida, which will have a Doak course.
