Golf Course Architecture - Issue 62: October 2020

37 Photos: Mike Klemme Davis has restored bunkering as well as width to fairways and greens, as seen on the par-four second and the par-four eighteenth (below) that are not as usable at modern green speeds. The greens have a lot more variety now, as originally intended, and recapturing the size allowed us to restore angles. The greens really drive the strategic character of the course even more than before. “The project has been one of the most satisfying in my career,” added Davis. “Because it is near my home and being the only large project we had under construction in 2019, I was able to enjoy being with my family and I was able to focus more on the work than I have in a long time. It was eye opening and I really enjoyed it.”
