Spring 2019 issue of ASGCA’s By Design magazine now available

The Spring 2019 issue of the American Society of Golf Course Architects’ By Design magazine is now available in digital format.

For the cover story, ASGCA members share their stories about Alice Dye, who passed away in February 2019. Alice, a former Curtis Cup player and matriarch of the Dye family of golf course architects, was the Society’s first female president.

Elsewhere in the issue, ASGCA members including Rees Jones, Greg Martin, Bruce Charlton and Richard Mandell provide insight into projects where they have worked alongside other ASGCA members – explaining how that collaboration came about and what benefits were delivered to the client.

The Digest section of By Design reports on a sharp rise in demand for forward tees at golf clubs, as revealed by the 2019 Golf Facility Market Trend Watch report, commissioned by the ASGCA and conducted by Sports & Leisure Research Group. It also highlights about the health benefits of golf, trends in driving distance and progress on new projects from ASGCA members.

Visit the By Design page of the ASGCA website to read online or download a free digital edition of the Spring 2019 issue, and to sign up for a free subscription.
