BallenIsles Country Club’s North course to reopen following redesign

BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is reopening its North course this week following an extensive redesign.

Architect Kipp Schulties lead the US$5 million redesign project, which saw the integration of the former BallenIsles short course.

Schulties has previously worked at Carolina National in North Carolina, and a range of courses in Florida, including Mayacoo Lakes, Lost Tree Club, and the Addison Reserve.

The North course was originally designed by Joe Lee and first opened as a nine hole course in 1964, before Lee added nine holes in 1969.

The Troon Golf-managed country club is home to three courses. The original East course opened in 1963 and was redesigned by Keith Foster in 2008. The club’s South course was redesigned by Gene Bates Golf Designs in 2000, and was a nine-hole course when it opened in 1964 before being expanded to eighteen holes by Joe Lee in 1970.
