Bobby Weed Golf Design to lead renovations at Spanish Oaks

Bobby Weed Golf Design has been retained by Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Bee Cave, Texas, to oversee a series of updates to its golf facilities.

The upcoming work will see renovations made to every bunker on the course, which will include the installation of new subsurface drainage and new sand. This is with the aim of making the bunkering more consistent and firm throughout the year.

A number of bunkers are being restored to their original shape, and bunker visibility will be improved by raising the floors and lowering the fronts to where they once were.

Bunkers are also being added to the club’s short-game area, while two greens have been enlarged and more hitting area has been added.

Bobby Weed Golf Design was the firm behind the original design of the club’s 18-hole course, which opened back in 2001.

“Spanish Oaks is a growing club, an outstanding development with a young, vibrant membership and with fantastic amenities,” said Bobby Weed, president and CEO of Bobby Weed Golf Design. “The intent is to improve overall conditions on a more consistent level, and to accommodate future events and challenge the best players in the country.”
