Brookwater reopens following refurb by Greg Norman Golf Course Design

Brookwater Golf & Country Club in Springfield, Australia has reopened its course following an overhaul of all 18 holes, including design changes to the greens, fairways and bunkers.

Work was carried out by the course’s original designer, Greg Norman Golf Course Design. This is the first time that enhancements have been made to the 15-year old course.

Central to the project’s scope was the resurfacing and restoration of the green complexes in an effort to return them to their original sizes, look and feel. Fairways have also been widened and overgrown foliage around the course and in waterways has been cut back. The drainage and irrigation systems have also been updated.

“It’s always great to come back to one of my designs and have the opportunity to modernise it and restore it to its original form, so to be able to return to Brookwater was extremely gratifying,” said Greg Norman. “When redesigning a course, our focus is always to improve both the environmental and economic sustainability as well as playability, which we accomplished in spades at Brookwater.”
