Casa Verde Golf begins North course renovation at Boulders resort

Casa Verde Golf has started a renovation of the North course at the Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale in Arizona, USA.

The North course was originally designed by architect Jay Morrish and opened for play in 1985. The resort is also home to the Morrish-designed South course, with both built in the desert foothills on a property that includes ancient boulder formations and natural desert terrain.

The project, led by Art Schaupeter, includes restoring green surfaces to their original shapes and sizes, with putting surfaces now featuring TifEagle turf. Work also includes laser levelling and resurfacing tees – the South’s par-four and par-five holes will also have their tees renovated.

“The net result to the North course refinement project will be more pin locations and playability enhancements to what is already an iconic course,” said Schaupeter.

“We are truly excited for the North course refinement project and the tee renovation projects,” said David Benham, director of club operations at Boulders. “This further illustrates our commitment to maintaining top playing conditions and club environment for our members and guests.”

In 2022, bunker work was carried out on both courses, along with the installation of new pump stations, and in 2024 the practice green was renovated and resurfaced.
