Construction of new nine-hole course and golf facility completed in Belgium

The construction of a new golf course project has been completed in the Belgian Wallonie region.

Located south of the Belgian capital Brussels in the Lacs de l’Eau D’Heure region, the new facility consists of a nine-hole golf course, three practice holes, a driving range and target greens, as well as a nine-hole pitch & putt course and a nine-hole fun putting course.

The nine-hole course, driving range and pitch and putt course have all now been completed.

The golf course has been designed by Dimitri van Hauwaert of Diamond Golf Architects, and once open will be managed and owned by Pro1Golf.

“The site is stunning, one of the best I have seen, with gorgeous views of the lake,” said van Hauwaert. “It would be difficult not to make a great golf course here.

Synthetic turfs from Southwest Greens Construction have been used across the facility. This means no pesticides or chemicals are required for the course’s maintenance.

“We are pleased to see the movement towards our synthetic turf solutions continues to gather steam within the Industry” Holinaty said. “Given the challenges golf courses face, from maintenance budget restrictions to stricter environmental realities, to increasing weather issues, our product portfolio can ease the pressure for course superintendents and provide genuine solutions to their challenges. This project is no different, and a good example where our synthetic turf systems made perfect sense.”
