Construction of new short game academy nears completion at The Ledges

A new short game academy designed by Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design at The Ledges Country Club in Huntsville, Alabama is nearing completion.

The facility will include a 5,500 sq ft putting green and a large chipping green surrounded by fairway approaches and rough. This will allow players to practice up to 30-yard shots. The academy will also include a new private teaching tee on the range.

“We sincerely believe the additional of this short game practice area will promote golf within the club for our youth programs, members and guests,” said Jim Howell, director of Golf Course Operations at The Ledges.

Jason Straka, principal of Fry/Straka, said: “We are honoured to design the academy for The Ledges so the club may offer the finest golf experience possible well into the future.”

Construction of the short game academy is set to be completed later this month.
