Course renovations at TPC Sugarloaf given the green light

A series of renovations to the golf courses at TPC Sugarloaf near Atlanta, US, have been given the go-ahead.

Home to three nine-hole courses – the Meadows, Stables and Pines courses – all 27 holes at TPC Sugarloaf were originally designed by a team from Greg Norman Golf Course Design.

The greens, tees and fairways will be resurfaced as part of the work, and bunkers will be rebuilt across all three nines.

Other details of the work include the introduction of a new irrigation system, and new cart paths will be created.

As of yet, no architect has been hired for the project, but GCA has been informed that a decision regarding this would be made in due course.

The three nines will be worked on separately, meaning members will still be able to play an 18-hole round throughout the time renovation work is taking place.

“Everyone at TPC Sugarloaf is looking forward to the enhancements,” said Mike Maloney, general manager at TPC Sugarloaf. “We’re excited for our members to experience the enhanced playing conditions that the course improvements will provide to our existing championship layout. We believe that the commitment to invest in this club is a demonstration of our commitment to the members, the Sugarloaf development, and the Atlanta area.”
