Eight new associates for ASGCA

Eight new associate members were elected by the American Society of Golf Course Architects at its recent annual meeting in Seattle.

The eight are Scott Fisher, Robert McNeil, Cal Olson, Jeff Potts, Randy Russell, Doug Smith, Shawn Smith and Mark Voss ASGCA now has a total of 188 members.

Scott Fisher is principal of Fisher Golf Design, based in Sylvania, Ohio and has designed courses including Red Hawk Run Golf Club, in Findlay, Ohio, White Clay Creek Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware, and Rose Creek Golf Club, Edmond, Oklahoma.

Robert McNeil  is president of the Northeast Golf Company. His representative courses include the Club at River Oaks, Sherman, Connecticut.; Skyview Golf Club, Sparta, New Jersey. and the remodelling of Battleground Country Club, Manalapan, New Jersey. 

Cal Olson is based in Aliso Viejo, California. He has designed the Links at Summerly, Lake Elsinore, California; Stone Creek, Sherman, Texas and redesigned Skylinks at Long Beach, Long Beach, California. 

Jeff Potts is vice president, director of golf design and construction for golf developer Landmark Land Company. His courses include Lost Canyons Golf Club, Sky and Shadow courses, Simi Valley, California, Arcos Gardens Golf and Country Estate, Arcos de la Frontera, Spain and Murder Rock Golf and Country Club, Branson, Missouri.. 

Randy Russell is based in Austin, Texas. His designs include the Club at Waterford, Marble Falls, Texas, Black Bear, Delhi, Louisiana. and University of Texas Golf Club, Austin, Texas. 

Doug Smith is a partner in Stephen Kay • Doug Smith Golf Course Design. He has designed the Hamlet at Willow Creek Golf & Country Club, Mt Sinai, New York, the Links at Union Vale, LaGrangeville, New York and Kulm CC in North Dakota. 

Shawn Smith is senior design associate with Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates. His designs include Eagle Ridge Golf Course at Yatesville Lake State Park, Louisa, Kentucky Wolfdancer Golf Club, Lost Pines, Texas and The Journey at Pechanga, Temecula, California. 

Mark Voss is senior project architect with Robert Trent Jones II. He has designed Miramont Golf Club, Bryan, Texas; The Golf Club at Rainmakers, Alto, New Mexico and Al Badia Golf Resort, Dubai.
