Issue 35 of ASGCA’s By Design magazine now available

Issue 35 of the American Society of Golf Course Architects’ (ASGCA) By Design magazine is now available.

This issue’s main feature examines the impact course renovation projects can have on a club and asks whether there’s a recipe for success. The feature focuses on three clubs where revamping the course has paid significant dividends.

The Digest section of the Fall 2017 issue includes a report on a new exhibit at the USGA Museum in Liberty Corner, New Jersey. Focusing on the role of women in golf course architecture, the exhibit includes contributions from ASGCA member Jan Bel Jan and ASGCA past president and ASGCA Fellow Alice Dye, who reflect on their work in the industry.

The new Shepherd’s Rock course at Nemacolin Woodlands resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania, which has been designed by Pete Dye, ASGCA Fellow, and Tim Liddy, ASGCA, also features in the Digest section, while By Design reports back from the ASGCA’s 71st Annual Meeting in Jupiter, Florida.

Five new Associate Members of the ASGCA discuss their respective career paths and explain what joining the association means to them, while By Design also pays tribute to Canadian architect Bob Moote, who recently passed away aged 92.
