Pizá Golf nears completion with Marina Mazátlan redesign

Pizá Golf is nearing completion with redesign work at Marina Mazátlan, a real estate-driven course on the West coast of Mexico originally designed by David Fleming in 2009.

Pizá Golf’s renovation of the golf course at the master planned community has opened up 10 acres of land that has been sold to a developer.

The reconfiguration has seen the seventeenth converted from a par three into a reachable par four that plays over water, while the eighteenth has changed from a par five into a “high risk, high reward” par three.

“Ending a round on a par three is pretty unique,” said Agustin Pizá. “From the input we have received, players are really enjoying the hole and people are spending time together to watch the groups coming in. The owners are thrilled as they have been able to save the golf course instead of the other unfortunate options.”

Additional changes to the routing are designed to increase the appeal of the community, to attract more golfers and help sell real estate.
