Plans to improve Cape Cod’s Dennis courses given go-ahead

A comprehensive enhancement plan for the Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands Golf Course in Massachusetts has been given the go-ahead.

The Town of Dennis Golf Committee has approved plans proposed by ASGCA architect Robert McNeil. Work will begin on both the Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands courses this autumn.

Located on Cape Cod, the courses host between 45,000 and 50,000 rounds a year respectively, as the local area attracts vast amounts of tourists.

Improvements to bunkers and tees will be made on both courses, as well as cart path revisions, drainage enhancements, tree management and fairway recontouring.

McNeil’s Northeast Golf Company has previously worked on numerous projects in the New England area, including at The Club at River Oaks in Connecticut, Fairmount Country Club in New Jersey and Pocono Manor Golf Resort in Pennsylvania. His plans for Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands include improving playability and pace of play while reducing maintenance work.

“I couldn’t be more excited to work with the wonderful people at Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands,” said McNeil. “They take great pride in the conditioning of the golf courses, working hard to give the players some of the best public golf the Cape has to offer. The vision and plan to bring the courses to the next level has been a team effort as will the execution of each detail.”
