Spogárd & VanderVaart to develop masterplan for Bråvikens Golf Club

Spogárd & VanderVaart Golf Course Architects have been commissioned to create a development masterplan for Bråvikens Golf Club near Norrköping, Sweden.

Located on Sweden’s east coast, the course at Bråvikens was originally designed by Björn Magnusson and opened in 1992.

“It is already a good golf course, but it has the potential to be truly fantastic,” said Philip Spogárd. “The setting of the course, with interesting elevation changes among mature trees and right on the sea front, is all you need to create a fantastic golfing experience. We couldn’t have wished for a better project as our first project in Sweden. We are really excited to help Bråvikens Golf Club reach their full potential. It really is a dream project for us.

Jan Monier, the club manager, said that Spogárd & VanderVaart were selected due to the emphasis the firm has placed on creating fun golfing experiences in previous projects.

“Philip’s professionalism and great thoughts about environmental sustainability fits with our profile,” Monier said.

“We can’t wait to start work on the project, which will be around May, when the course presents itself better after the winter,” added Spogárd.
