Tetherow owners acquire homesites

The owners of Tetherow Golf Club in Bend, Oregon have acquired 58 custom home sites within the development’s Glen neighbourhood.

Velocity US Properties, headed by the same joint venture partnership of Willem Willemstein and Bend-based Chris van der Velde who acquired Tetherow in March 2009, bought the sites.

“We are extremely pleased to finalise the acquisition of these special custom properties,” said van der Velde. “These lots are some of the most private custom homesites within Tetherow. We plan on getting to work very quickly to build three northwest urban style homes that should be available by spring 2011.”

Since 2007, the Dutch-based Velocity Capital Group has made several investments in US real estate, especially in Oregon. Van der Velde, a central Oregon resident and dual citizen of the Netherlands and the United States, is one of Velocity’s directors. Before getting into the development business van der Velde was a European Tour member and is also a member of both the British PGA and the PGA of America. Tetherow, which opened in 2008, was designed by Scottish architect David McLay Kidd.
