The April 2021 issue of Golf Course Architecture is out now!

The April 2021 issue of Golf Course Architecture magazine is out now in both printed and digital formats.

The cover of our April 2021 issue features the new 14-hole short course by Bill Coore at Barnbougle Golf Links in Australia. We speak with Coore and Riley Johns about the site, routing and what golfers can expect.

Our main feature article for this issue asks whether a revival of municipal golf is on the cards. Adam Lawrence reports on municipal courses from around the world that are rediscovering their architectural heritage – with varied consequences..

We profile The San Roque Club in Spain, which has opted for a sustainable approach for the renovation of its Old course; David McLay Kidd’s Comporta Dunes course in Portugal, which is nearing completion after a six-year gap in construction; and Shadow Wood Country Club in Florida, where Rees Jones has completed a three-course renovation.

Elsewhere, Brian Curley describes how China’s golfing landscape has changed over the last 30 years, and Toby Ingleton finds out about the origins of golf in Saudi Arabia and what the future holds.

Our Tee Box section includes news of a links course being planned in the Scottish Highlands; Gil Hanse’s work on the Lower course at Baltrusol in New Jersey; the recent renovation by Mackenzie & Ebert on the links at Hillside Golf Club in Southport, England; and an interview with Peter Flory about how a virtual golf course design hobby led to a role in Tom Doak’s Lido project in Wisconsin.

There’s plenty more too – enjoy the issue!
