Course reopens with redesigned greens, rebuilt bunkers, reshaped fairways and new irrigation

Terravita Golf & Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, has reopened its golf course after an $8.5 million renovation project led by architect Phil Smith.
Contractor Heritage Links began work earlier this year on the course, which was originally designed by Billy Casper and Greg Nash.
For Smith’s renovation, every green has either been redesigned or rebuilt, with all putting surfaces regrassed with TifEagle bermuda.
Bunker work has included relocations, reshaping and rebuilding, as well as incorporating Capillary Concrete liner to minimise washouts, reduce maintenance and improve playability.
Other renovations at Terravita include tees, reshaping fairways, and installing a new irrigation system.
“During the renovation process I was able to design a new golf course that rewards good shots and fairly challenges all levels of play,” said Smith. “I am proud to say Terravita Golf & Country Club now has a golf course the members can enjoy, uninterrupted, for many years to come."
