The Summer 2019 issue of the American Society of Golf Course Architects’ By Design magazine is now available in digital format.

The cover story sees ASGCA members discussing golf projects that they have worked on in emerging golf markets. The members talk about the challenges and rewards of designing courses in a country where golf is not well established.

Elsewhere in the issue, Marc Whitney interviews the new ASGCA President, Jan Bel Jan. She talks about how her career in golf course architecture began, some of her projects, her Scoring Tees system and what she hopes to bring to the role of ASGCA President.

The Digest section of By Design reports on the recent ASGCA Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, where economics and the environment drove discussions. It also highlights the news that the ASGCA is becoming a Presenting Partner at next year’s Golf Industry Show, a recent report about the state of golf by the National Golf Federation, and progress on new projects from ASGCA members.
