The private Marcella club community in Utah is planning a summer 2026 soft opening of its new Skyline course, designed by Tiger Woods and his design firm TGR Design.

“The course has been routed to take advantage of the incredible long-range vistas while also incorporating contrasting intimate valleys between the ridges to create a truly unique and memorable golf experience,” said Ryan Kartchner, managing director of golf development at Reef Capital Partners, the firm behind the new resort and community, in the mountains east of Salt Lake City.

Skyline will have 360-degree views of the Wasatch Back area. “The course will provide a stern test for low handicap golfers, yet also present a fun, family friendly experience to allow individuals of all skill levels to come together and enjoy,” said Kartchner. “It will feature generous landing areas helping players to keep the ball in play while still challenging players with strategic choices and angles off the tee for the best opportunities to score. The greens will vary in size and contouring to reinforce the tee shot strategy, but with green surrounds mowed tight, players missing the green will be able to use their creativity to make interesting recoveries.”

A grand opening will take place in 2027.

Woods and TGR Design are also creating a short course for the resort, which in winter months will be “reimagined into a sledding hill for all ages to enjoy,” said Kartchner.

An 18-hole members-only course, Ambush, designed by King Collins Dormer, is also in the works. “Set along a stunning, mile-long protected ridgeline, Ambush is poised to deliver some of the most awe-inspiring golf vistas in all of Utah,” said Kartchner. “Every hole will be sculpted to capture the natural beauty and drama of the landscape, creating a playing experience as unforgettable as the setting itself.”
