Dormie Club renovations imminent following change in ownership

Dormie Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina is planning to break ground on golf course renovations in early 2018.

A Coore & Crenshaw design that opened in 2010 and is regularly ranked among the best in the state, Dormie Club covers a 1,000+ acre expanse of land with 110 feet of elevation change featuring pine trees, hardwoods and three natural lakes.

A Facebook post by the club strongly suggests that Coore & Crenshaw will be responsible for the golf course renovation work, the details of which have not yet been announced.

The club was recently acquired by Nebraska-based golf investment company Hainoa, LLC and is now transitioning to private membership as part of a group of private destination clubs called the Dormie Network.

Members of the Dormie Network get full access to four golf courses: Dormie Club, plus ArborLinks in Nebraska City, Nebraska, Briggs Ranch in San Antonio, Texas and Ballyhack in Roanoke, Virginia.

The club, which is now managed by golf management and construction firm Landscapes Unlimited, is also planning the installation of a halfway house and a full-service clubhouse, which are currently in the planning stages, and the construction of on-site cottage accommodations.

“Dormie Club was destined to be one of the great private courses from its beginning,” explains Zach Peed of Hainoa, LLC. “With these immediate investments, we’re returning the club to its original concept: an exceptional offering of amenities at a renowned Coore-Crenshaw course in an intimate atmosphere—an exclusive, pure golf experience.”
