Mingay to work on Rochester Place

Jeff Mingay has been hired to scope out improvements to the 18-hole course at the Rochester Place Golf Club in Belle River, Ontario.

Mingay has been selected by new owner Paul St. Pierre to increase the yardage, number of tee boxes and hazards.

Part of a club-wide project, the aim is to increase the level of play on the course. Paul St. Pierre will work with his brother Guy to make improvements across various aspects of Rochester Place.

St. Pierre told the Windsor Star: “We are going to be working with him to develop the entire new look of the course with increased yardages, increased tee boxes, increased hazards…. What Guy and I can do with some major sculpting and contouring it’s going to be pretty easy for us to make this an interesting golf course.”

Mingay, who is based close to the course, has previously worked on high-profile courses in Canada, such as the Nova Scotia’s Cabot Links course, and Sagebush Golf & Sporting Club in British Columbia.
