Rejuvenation at Red Leaves

The Red Leaves golf resort in Ontario, Canada has undertaken a series of alterations to its Rock course. The work included expanding teeing areas and widening fairway landing areas to increase visibility and playability. Nick Faldo's design company is carrying out the work.

The course is closed temporarily during the renovation, but will reopen in May 2008, to coincide with the opening of The Rosseau, the new Marriott hotel at Red Leaves.

"We are really excited at the prospect of implementing these changes," said Faldo.

"We believe they are necessary steps, just like any other upkeep or renovation. We are confident that the changes will add to the popularity and reputation of The Rock as a must play course." The Red Leaves masterplan will unfold in phases. Over the next decade, the resort will develop to include an entire resort community including a village, a working marina, restaurants, shops, a theatre, and a spa on the shore of Lake Rosseau.
