Renovated and renamed Bald Eagle Golf Club to open this May

The renovated golf course at the newly-named Bald Eagle Golf Club in Point Roberts, Washington, is to reopen this May.

Formerly known as Point Roberts Golf & Country Club, the course has been worked on by Wayne Carleton since last summer.

Carleton is the original designer of the course, which is located in Point Roberts – a US land exclave on the Tsawwassen Peninsula.

The course has been closed since early 2017 after hitting hard times financially, but new owners from China and Canada purchased the course in July 2017. Carleton was brought in to restore the course in August 2017.

“Our work has included returfing all the greens with bentgrass, restoring and renovating all the bunkers, tee and fairway restoration including turfing,” Carleton told GCA.

The final touches are being made to the course, while clubhouse renovations are also taking place to prepare to the club for its reopening.

“We still have a long way to go, but we are well on our way to bring the course back to top condition and playability,” added Carleton.
