Renovations taking place at Coral Oaks Golf Course this summer

The Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral, Florida, is undergoing a renovation project this summer.

Originally designed by Arthur Hills, the current work on the course is focused on renovating all the putting surfaces, as well as three teeing grounds and selected areas of fairway.

“The scope of the work on the greens is to core five inches and replace one inch of 90/10 mix,” Allen Manguson, golf manager at Coral Oaks, told GCA. “The greens will then be regrassed with certified Pikes Creek Tif Eagle with a five foot 419 collar.”

The work is being led by Tom Morrow of Florida-based Detailed Sports Turf Construction.

“The main aim is to create excellent putting surfaces that will increase the enjoyment for golfers and raise the standards of our product,” Manguson added. “The greens were last done 17 years ago and it was past time for them to be done.”

The majority of the work is set to be completed in June, with the greens set to reopen in October following a grow in period.
