Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona, ready for play
The Sewailo Golf Club at the Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson, Arizona, will open to the public on 12 December.
The course is a Notah Begay III signature design. California-based golf architect Ty Butler, ASGCA, worked with Begay on the project, which was built by contractor Landscapes Unlimited. Begay, the only full-blooded Native American to compete on the PGA Tour, previously worked with architect Jeff Brauer on the Firekeeper course in Kansas, which opened in 2010.
The course features rolling fairways and 14 acres of lakes and streams water, and is located at the Casino Del Sol Resort, an enterprise of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
Measuring 7,400 yards from the championship tees, Sewailo features five different tee boxes on each hole, and is home to indigenous flowers and plants, used in tribal ceremonies.

The club also features an extensive driving range, practice areas for chipping and putting, Callaway Golf equipment rentals and instructional programmes. Troon Golf will manage the course.
