TPC at Baha Mar course to open for play in late March

A new 18-hole course designed by Jack Nicklaus’ firm in the Bahamas will open on 27 March.

The TPC at Baha Mar course, which forms part of the Baha Mar resort, will play 7,189 yards and is characterised by a front nine that overlooks the Caribbean Sea and a back nine that winds through an in-land forest.

The course will be the first on the TPC Network located in the Caribbean.

The design of TPC at Baha Mar has a focus on preservation, and the course has been registered as a member of the Audubon International Classic Program, an environmental education organisation that provides the knowledge and assistance to help facilities such as golf courses practice the responsible management of natural resources such as land, water and wildlife.

The course forms part of the Baha Mar resort, which will also open on 27 March and lies on the outskirts of Nassau, the Bahamian capital. The resort consists of four hotels that cumulatively consist of 2,200 luxury rooms, as well as the largest casino complex in the Caribbean.

TPC at Baha Mar will become the 33rd club on the TPC Network , following on from TPC Cartagena in Colombia, which opened in October 2014 and was another project led by the Nicklaus Design firm.
