Staedler Golf Courses (SGC), the German golf design firm, was founded in 1987 by Christoph Städler, a former German amateur champion and current EIGCA president. Today the firm consists of three highly reputed golf course designers: principal Christoph Städler, chief designer Achim Reinmuth and designer Philipp Fleischhauer. Stadler and Reinmuth are members of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects and are ‘Sustainable Design Leaders’. One of SGC’s main strengths is its powerful teamwork, which has allowed it to win most of the entered design competitions.
By 2020, SGC had completed 53 new golf courses in Germany, Switzerland, Poland, the Netherlands and in the Czech Republic (most of them 18 or 27 hole courses) and more than 120 redesigns and renovations of existing golf courses. About 30 golf projects in Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovakia and Croatia are currently in the planning or construction stages.
Städler Golf Courses’ position as one of the most successful golf design firms in Europe has been achieved by its long-standing reputation for creating excellent golf courses at affordable costs, keeping construction work on schedule and on budget. The focus of its design philosophy is to create a fair yet challenging design, rewarding players of all skill levels with a joyful and exciting round of golf.
