‘Executive 9’ course to open at Woodland Hills next autumn

A new nine hole course is to open in Des Moines, Iowa, this coming Autumn.

The Executive 9 at Woodland Hills will be a par-31 and can be played in less than an hour.

The new course will complement the existing 18 hole course at the Woodland Hills site, which opened in 1928 and was designed by Warren Dickinson.

The new Executive 9 will consist of four par four holes and five par three holes, ranging in yardage from 100 to 350 yards.

“The Executive 9 at Woodland Hills is the first of its kind in the Des Moines area, and we are excited to introduce it to the market,” said Ken Norland, director of Golf at Woodland Hills Golf Course. “Nine-hole executive courses differ from regulation nine-hole golf courses because they have pars of 31 or less versus a par of 32 to 37. Thus, this course gives all golfers, both beginner and advanced a unique golf experience.”
