Hardier grasses are being introduced across the course

Renovations are being made to the golf course at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Nebraska.

Landscapes Unlimited has been brought in to complete a portion of the work, which includes the reseeding of tee boxes, fairways and greens.

Renovations will also be made to the course’s greenside and fairway bunkers. New drainage systems and new sand will be introduced to the fairway bunkers, and new edges will be cut to help aid definition.

The course’s grasses will also be updated to hardier varieties, and hitting areas will be leveled out.

Preliminary work got underway on 13 July and the course shut for the 2015 playing season on 3 August.

The course was originally designed by architect David Gill and opened for play in 1962.

Weather permitting, the course will reopen for play in spring 2016.
