Weiskopf nears completion of TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course renovation

The Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale will reopen for play on 14 November following an extensive renovation lead by original course architect Tom Weiskopf and his team.

GCA reported in April this year that Weiskopf would be returning to TPC Scottsdale for the project, which saw his team partner with Landscapes Unlimited to resurface all greens and relocate selected greens, tees and bunkers.

Alterations to the course include strategic changes to all 18 holes. New green locations at holes 2, 3, 4 and 14 have been introduced, while significant fairway and green complex modifications have been made to the thirteenth hole.

“The time had come to update the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale to provide a more modern and state-of-art tournament course for today's Tour players,” said Weiskopf. “These changes will also position the club to continue as the leader in the competitive Scottsdale resort and daily-fee market.”

Other enhancements to the course include new white sand in the bunkers and the removal of 250 trees for strategic and aesthetic purposes.

TPC Scottsdale is located in the US state of Arizona, and the complex’s Stadium Course is the host of the PGA Tour's Waste Management Phoenix Open.
