Pete Dye’s firm to add nine new holes at Mystic Rock

Nine new holes are to be added at the Mystic Rock golf course at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort near Farmington, Pennsylvania.

Designed by Pete Dye’s firm, earthwork is already underway for the new nine holes. Dye was the architect behind the existing 18-hole course at the site, which has been ranked as one of the best 100 courses in the US by a number of golf publications.

The additional nine holes will ‘mimic the architecture’ of the original eighteen according to Ashli Mazer, director of Marketing at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, with the design using ‘the natural topography of the land to create a challenging nine-hole layout that places high value on golf shot placement’.

The new nine will have a par of 36 and will measure 3,106 yards.

The new holes are scheduled to be ready for play by spring 2017.
